Tan pronto como piensas en alguna artista femenina de Eurobeat, es imposible no pensar en una mujer con melodias tan lindas o una voz tan espectacular como Virginelle/Lolita (o tambien Roxanne o Annerley Gordon). Elena Gobbi es practicamente una de las más importantes voces en el lado femenino del Eurobeat, con canciones como Try Me, Everybody Dance, Wanna Be Your Emotion y muchas más. Junto a Domino, ademas, forman las GoGo Girls, y estas dos chicas juntas se ponen aun mas locas y felices de las que las podemos apreciar por si solas. Por eso, vamos entonces directo a esta entrevista donde podremos conocer un poco mas de esta gran cantante y veamos que tiene para decir a sus fans. Esta es la entrevista a Lolita/Virginelle:

¿Por qué elegiste Lolita/Virginelle como tu nombre artistico?

No fue mi elección. Mis productores eligieron mis nombres cuando era muy joven, asi que creo que mis nombres hacen referencia a eso.

¿Cómo conociste el Eurobeat? ¿Por qué no intentaste otro estilo musical, como Pop o Baladas?

Conocí el Eurobeat gracias a una amiga de mi mamá, quien tambien fue la esposa de mi primer productor.

¿Tienes influencias en tu estilo? ¿Algunos artistas favoritos que quisieras nombrar?

Si, mis artistas favoritos son Mariah Carey, Olivia Newton-John, Barbara Straisand, Michael Buble, Freddy Mercury, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Jamie Cullum, James Morrison, Mina (La más grande cantante italiana de todos los tiempos), Antonella Ruggiero (Otra cantante italiana importante), etc.

¿Cómo definirías tu música?

¡Como pura diversión!

¿Por qué cantas en inglés si no es tu idioma natural?

Quizás cante en italiano próximamente...

Cuéntanos acerca de la composición musical (¿Escribes tú las canciones? ¿Cómo trabajas con ellas? ¿Cuanto te demoras en tener una nueva canción?)

Yo escribo las letras y a veces tambien tengo ideas para las melodías. Usualmente trabajo junto a mi productor Sandro (Oliva) y a veces con mi amiga-productora-coleta Domino, con la cual comparto mis ideas e inspiraciones para cuadrar las letras a la musica.

Toma alrededor de dos horas en escribir la letra de la cancion y cuatro para cantarlas.

¿Qué tan diferente es grabar sola a cuando lo haces como las GoGo Girls?

¡¡Es mucho más divertido con las GoGo Girls!!

Aparte de Japón, el Eurobeat es popular en Sudamérica, especialmente en Brazil y Chile. ¿Cómo te sientes con ello?

¡¡¡Eso es genial!!!

¿Cómo se vive el Eurobeat en Italia? Conocemos acerca de Japón, Brasil, USA y aca en Chile, pero ¿cómo te sientes respeecto a eso?

Nadie conoce el Eurobeat acá en Italia… Es muy triste L

Why did you choose Lolita/Virginelle as your artist name?

It wasn’t my choice. My producers have chosen my names when I was very young, so I think my names refer to this.

How did you meet Eurobeat? Why didn’t you try another music genre, like pop or slow ballads?

I met eurobeat thanks to a friend of my mom, who was also my first producer’s wife.

Do you have influences in your style? Any favorite artist you would like to recall?

Yes, my favourite singers are Mariah Carey, Olivia Newton-John, Barbara Straisand, Michael Buble, Freddy Mercury, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Jamie Cullum, James Morrison, Mina (The GREATEST italian singer of all times), Antonella Ruggiero (Another great itailan singer), etc.

How do you define your music?

Pure Fun!

Why do you sing in English if it’s not your natural language?

Maybe I’ll sing in Italian soon...

Tell us about the music composition (Do you write your songs? How do you work? How much time do you take on making a new song?)

I write the lyrics and sometimes I have ideas for the riff. I usually work together with my producer Sandro (Oliva) and sometimes with my friend-producer-colleague Domino, with whom I share ideas and inspirations to fit words to music.

It takes about two hours to write a song’s lyrics and 4 hours to sing it.

How different is when you record alone that when you record as GoGo Girls?

It’s much more fun with the GoGo Girls!!

Apart from Japan, Eurobeat is quite popular in South America, specially in Brazil and Chile. How do you feel about this?

That’s great!!!

How do Eurobeat lives in Italy? We know about Japan, Brazil, USA and here in Chile, but how you feel about it?

Nobody knows Eurobeat in Italy... So sad L

Finally, do you have a few words for your chilean fans?
